Exalate moves data between companies. GroundTruth decides whether the data is true.
Exalate is the strongest tool in this list for sync across an organisational boundary. Each side keeps control of its own rules, in script. GroundTruth answers a different question: does the merged code satisfy what the ticket asked for?
Claims about Exalate are category facts, checked on the vendor’s own site in October 2026. Products change. If something here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
What Exalate does better than GroundTruth
We list this first on purpose. A comparison that only lists wins is an advert, and you can tell.
Cross-company sync, done properly
Exalate lets each side script its own rules. Neither side must trust the other with its configuration. This is a real strength.
Deep scripting control
Exalate handles unusual mappings that menu-driven tools cannot. Complex cases are its home ground.
Works where trust is limited
A supplier and a customer can sync tickets without opening their trackers to each other. GroundTruth does not do this.
Established in the Atlassian ecosystem
Exalate is a known quantity for Jira administrators and has been for years.
What GroundTruth does that Exalate does not
We verify, we do not transport
Exalate moves a value from one place to another. GroundTruth decides what the value should be, from the code.
We read the acceptance criteria
GroundTruth checks each criterion against the merged diff and reports a confidence for each one.
We hold a ticket that is not done
A criterion that is not met stops the ticket. No script is needed to express that rule.
We sign the result
Each change enters an audit chain with the reason behind it. Scripts leave logs, not evidence.
Side by side
The same ten questions appear on every comparison page, so you can read them against each other. A tilde means partly, and it carries a note.

- Reads source control as the record of the work: Exalate syncs records between systems. It does not derive status from the code.
- Keeps the previous value, so you can revert each write: A script can be written to reverse a change. GroundTruth keeps the previous value for each write.
Choose Exalate if
- You sync tickets with another company and neither side trusts the other with its rules.
- Your mapping is unusual and needs a script.
- You must keep two independent trackers aligned for years.
Choose GroundTruth if
- Your own tracker is wrong, and copying it will not help.
- You want done to mean the criteria are met.
- You need evidence for an automated change, not a log line.

In one line
Exalate is the right answer to a transport problem. GroundTruth is the right answer to a truth problem. Know which one you have.
What we will not claim
What each integration can do
GroundTruth reads GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket as the record of the work. It writes full sync to Jira, Linear and Azure DevOps. Asana is read plus coarse write, so it cannot drive a full workflow there.
We do not make you compliant
No tool does. GroundTruth produces evidence that an auditor can read. The judgment stays with your auditor, and Fastpace holds no certification on your behalf.
Analytics is not our category
Jellyfish, LinearB, Swarmia and DX report delivery and experience in far more depth than we do. We report status accuracy, drift and blockers. We do not claim parity.
Self-hosting is a conversation
Self-hosted and air-gapped deployment is an Enterprise capability, arranged with our team. You cannot switch it on from a pricing page.
Questions buyers ask
Do these two overlap at all?
Only in that both can write to a tracker. Exalate writes what the other system says. GroundTruth writes what the code proves.
Can we use GroundTruth across two companies?
GroundTruth reads your repositories and writes your tracker. It is not a cross-company sync product. Use Exalate for that leg.
Is scripting required to use GroundTruth?
No. The rules are configuration, and the semantic checks run against the criteria as written.
