DX measures how the work feels. GroundTruth proves what the work did.
DX is a measurement company. It joins surveys to system signals and reports developer experience to leadership. GroundTruth is a control layer. It verifies the work and corrects the record. Neither one substitutes for the other.
Claims about DX are category facts, checked on the vendor’s own site in October 2026. Products change. If something here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
What DX does better than GroundTruth
We list this first on purpose. A comparison that only lists wins is an advert, and you can tell.
The research base is real
DX is built on published developer productivity research. The measurement design is careful and well argued.
Survey plus system data
DX collects what engineers report and joins it to telemetry. GroundTruth has no survey product.
Executive reporting on experience
DX gives a leader a defensible view of friction across teams. We do not produce that view.
Benchmarks across companies
DX compares your result to a wide data set. We hold no benchmark data and claim none.
What GroundTruth does that DX does not
We change the state of the work
DX reports. GroundTruth writes: it moves the ticket the code proves and holds the one it does not.
We verify criteria against the diff
GroundTruth reads each acceptance criterion against the merged change and reports a confidence.
We find the gaps nobody recorded
GroundTruth finds merged work with no ticket, and a blocker that no person wrote down.
We produce a signed trail
Each automated change is signed into an audit chain, with the finding and the confidence behind it.
Side by side
The same ten questions appear on every comparison page, so you can read them against each other. A tilde means partly, and it carries a note.

- Reads source control as the record of the work: DX reads system signals for measurement. GroundTruth reads source control as the record of the work.
- Reports delivery metrics, trends and benchmarks: DX owns experience measurement. We do not claim parity.
Choose DX if
- You must report developer experience to an executive team.
- You want survey data joined to system data.
- You are building a productivity programme and need a baseline.
Choose GroundTruth if
- Your delivery data is wrong, so every report from it is wrong.
- You need the acceptance criteria verified before a ticket closes.
- You must prove the reason for an automated status change.

In one line
DX tells you how the work feels. GroundTruth tells you what the work actually did, and will not let the tracker say otherwise.
What we will not claim
What each integration can do
GroundTruth reads GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket as the record of the work. It writes full sync to Jira, Linear and Azure DevOps. Asana is read plus coarse write, so it cannot drive a full workflow there.
We do not make you compliant
No tool does. GroundTruth produces evidence that an auditor can read. The judgment stays with your auditor, and Fastpace holds no certification on your behalf.
Analytics is not our category
Jellyfish, LinearB, Swarmia and DX report delivery and experience in far more depth than we do. We report status accuracy, drift and blockers. We do not claim parity.
Self-hosting is a conversation
Self-hosted and air-gapped deployment is an Enterprise capability, arranged with our team. You cannot switch it on from a pricing page.
Questions buyers ask
Do DX and GroundTruth compete?
They do not. DX measures experience. GroundTruth enforces the definition of done. Buying one does not answer the other question.
Does GroundTruth survey engineers?
No. It reads source control, the tracker and the agent run records. It asks a person only when a judgment is genuinely unclear.
Which one should we buy first?
Buy the one that answers your loudest question. If leaders distrust the status data, that is GroundTruth. If they distrust the productivity story, that is DX.
