Jellyfish measures the record. GroundTruth corrects it.

These two products answer different questions. Jellyfish tells you where engineering time went. GroundTruth tells you whether the ticket is true, and holds it when it is not. Many teams need both answers. This page says which product gives which one.

Claims about Jellyfish are category facts, checked on the vendor’s own site in October 2026. Products change. If something here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

What Jellyfish does better than GroundTruth

We list this first on purpose. A comparison that only lists wins is an advert, and you can tell.

Deeper delivery analytics than ours

Jellyfish reports on allocation, cycle time, and trends over quarters. GroundTruth does not try to match that depth. We say so on every page.

Investment and allocation views for finance

Jellyfish maps engineering effort to products, epics and roadmap themes. A CFO conversation is a Jellyfish conversation.

Benchmarks against other companies

Jellyfish compares your numbers to an industry set. GroundTruth has no benchmark data and does not claim any.

A long record in the category

Jellyfish is an established product with a large customer base. We are newer. Ask us for a pilot, not for a logo wall.

What GroundTruth does that Jellyfish does not

We read the code, not the board

GroundTruth treats the repository as the true record. It reads branches, pull requests, reviews, checks and merges.

We check the criteria, one by one

GroundTruth reads each acceptance criterion against the merged diff. It reports a confidence for each one.

We hold the ticket

A criterion that is not met stops the ticket. GroundTruth does not close it and does not report it as done.

We sign every change

Each automated write enters an audit chain. You can inspect it, prove it to an auditor, and revert it.

Side by side

The same ten questions appear on every comparison page, so you can read them against each other. A tilde means partly, and it carries a note.

Choose Jellyfish if

  • You must show the board where engineering money goes.
  • You want to benchmark your delivery against other companies.
  • You need allocation reporting across many teams and products.
  • Your tracker is already accurate, so you only need to read it.

Choose GroundTruth if

  • Your tracker is not accurate, so every report built on it is wrong.
  • You want a ticket held until the acceptance criteria are met.
  • An auditor asks you to prove why a status changed.
  • Agents write a growing share of your code, and nobody checks the ticket.

In one line

Jellyfish makes the record easier to read. GroundTruth makes the record true. If the record is wrong, read it later and fix it first.

What we will not claim

What each integration can do

GroundTruth reads GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket as the record of the work. It writes full sync to Jira, Linear and Azure DevOps. Asana is read plus coarse write, so it cannot drive a full workflow there.

We do not make you compliant

No tool does. GroundTruth produces evidence that an auditor can read. The judgment stays with your auditor, and Fastpace holds no certification on your behalf.

Analytics is not our category

Jellyfish, LinearB, Swarmia and DX report delivery and experience in far more depth than we do. We report status accuracy, drift and blockers. We do not claim parity.

Self-hosting is a conversation

Self-hosted and air-gapped deployment is an Enterprise capability, arranged with our team. You cannot switch it on from a pricing page.

Questions buyers ask

Can we run GroundTruth and Jellyfish together?

Yes. They read the same systems and do different jobs. GroundTruth corrects the tracker, and Jellyfish reports on it. A more accurate tracker makes the Jellyfish numbers better.

Is GroundTruth a Jellyfish replacement?

Not for analytics. If you buy Jellyfish for allocation reporting and benchmarks, GroundTruth does not replace that. If you buy it hoping the status data is correct, start with GroundTruth.

Does GroundTruth report metrics at all?

Yes, but a narrow set. It reports status accuracy, drift, blockers, and work that merged with no ticket. We do not claim analytics parity.
