Privacy Website privacy & analytics notice
Last updated July 12, 2026
This notice covers fastpace.net, our marketing site. It
describes the small amount of first-party analytics we collect to
understand how visitors use the site. The fastpace product itself is
separate and ships zero telemetry (see below).
The short version
- First-party only: no third-party trackers, ad networks, or analytics SDKs. Nothing is sent to a third-party domain.
- We do not sell or share your data, and we don't build advertising profiles.
- We never store your raw IP address. It's used once, server-side, to derive approximate location, then discarded.
- No sensitive personal data is collected on this site.
What we collect
For each page view and button click we record:
- The page URL, referrer, and any UTM campaign parameters.
- Device type (desktop/mobile/tablet), derived from your browser's user-agent string.
- Approximate location (see below).
- A first-party session identifier (a random UUID in the
fp_sid cookie, 30-day lifetime) so we can see an anonymous visit as one journey rather than disconnected hits. It contains no personal information. - A/B test bucket cookies (e.g.
fp_ab_homepage, fp_lp_*) so you see a consistent version of a page. - A one-way hash of a truncated IP (network portion only, salted and SHA-256'd) used solely to de-duplicate visits. The original IP cannot be recovered from it.
Approximate location (geolocation)
To understand roughly where our visitors are, we look your IP address up
against a local geolocation database on our own server to
derive a country, and, where available, an approximate
region (e.g. state) and city. Two things matter here:
- Your IP is discarded immediately after the lookup. We store only the resulting country/region/city codes, never the IP itself, and the lookup happens on our infrastructure, so your IP is not sent to any third-party geolocation service.
- Region and city are approximate and best-effort (city especially, it often reflects your ISP's routing, not your actual location). We use this only in aggregate to understand traffic, never to identify or track an individual.
IP geolocation by DB-IP.
The fastpace product ships zero telemetry
Separately from this website: the fastpace CLI and the governance evidence
it produces run on your own infrastructure. It collects no
usage analytics, error reports, or session data, and your code and prompts
never leave your side. This notice is only about the marketing website.
